“The job of the writer is to make revolution irresistible.” – Toni Cade Bambara
Dr. Candace Epps-Robertson is a writer, researcher, coach, and founder of Full Circle Writing. With over twenty years of experience in community and higher education settings, she supports writers across the lifespan through teaching, curriculum development, and mentoring—particularly for those balancing caregiving and writing. Her research interests include cultural rhetorics, literacy, and writing studies, with a focus on how communities understand and practice citizenship locally and globally. Her first book, Resisting Brown: Race, Literacy, and Citizenship in the Heart of Virginia, explores a Civil Rights-era literacy program designed to cultivate global citizens. She also researches popular music and fandom as sites of transcultural exchange and the connection between art and literacy pedagogies. In addition to her scholarship, Dr. Epps-Robertson supports writers through online writing groups and coaching. She is passionate about helping others create sustainable writing practices that honor their identities and life circumstances.
