“The job of the writer is to make revolution irresistible.” – Toni Cade Bambara
This roundtable conversation, inspired by Dr. Gwendolyn D. Pough’s Check It While I Wreck It: Black Womanhood, Hip Hop and the Public Sphere, as well as Pough and Dr. Elaine Richardson’s co-edited anthology, Home Girls Make Some Noise!, features presenters responding to the guiding question: “What does a Black feminist creative – critical approach to Hip Hop culture offer our research, scholarship, artistic practices, teaching, and/or art making?” After Dr. Elaine Richardson leads a moderated discussion between speakers, there will be a brief question and answer session with the audience with the remaining time.
