“The job of the writer is to make revolution irresistible.” – Toni Cade Bambara
Robyn Jordan is an interdisciplinary creative entrepreneur, placemaker, and St. Louis native who has resided in Northwest Arkansas since 2011. As a lover of creativity and connectivity, she has 20+ years of experience on and off the stage in the performing and language arts. On her journey to embrace love, beauty, and interconnection, she predominantly creates works and experiences that celebrate and appreciate individual and collective contributions from Black and Indigenous women and gender inclusion in music and creative industries. Largely inspired by Black culture and the creative resilience of systemically overlooked women, she started her business, Her Set Her Sound, to disrupt the social hierarchy and discrimination in music and entertainment in 2021. Her appetite for play, creativity, and liberation helps her produce groundbreaking ideas that are influencing the landscape for music, culture, and business in Northwest Arkansas and beyond. Her work has been developed with renowned brands, establishments, and artists like Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, The Momentary, the Fayetteville Public Library, the City of Fayetteville, NWA Equality, Nick Cave, CC Mercer Watson, and more.
